Since I've never really made an OC before, I'm going to just tweak some of my original fiction concepts.
For the demon, I'm thinking a guy who used to be human but was tricked into becoming a demon as part of a "save your life and your sister's life" deal. He's pretty bitter about the whole thing and does contracts as more of a "something he's expected to do" than something he has an active interest in. He's also a former prince so he's a bit refined and has a lot of pride. His contracts are a means of his connecting with the outside world and exist purely for his entertainment, for lack of a better word. He's usually looking for desperate people (like he was) so he can show them the price of that desperation. He's more a teaching type all around. He doesn't treat his contractors cruelly but he's very detached and he very much thinks he deserves more than this. He is also very much the fallen angel type of demon in appearance: black wings, claws, horns and the like.
Human: Man, do I play humans? Um... my pacted human would probably be some danger-loving freak who contracted because hells yeah KICK ASS ABILITIES. He also had a past of being viewed as an outcast because he has naturally red eyes or some shit and has prophetic dreams. To counter his self-hating feelings, he developed an addiction to testing the limits of life. He's a very "I do what I want" type, but he's also quite social and loves being around people (as long as they don't find out about his quirks).
Well, I wouldn't say he treats them well. It's more like he doesn't make their lives actively miserable. XD He's still hardly friendly with them and is probably a bit preachy.
Yeah I figure there's going to be SOME way for her to poke at him, either amiable-frenemy poking or LOL UR SO RIDICULOUS-mean poking... Especially since I was planning for my demon to have a "pacted as a human and later became a demon" backstory too. \o/
Well she decided that her decision wasn't bad at all it was awesome and amazing and being a demon is so cool. :x WHY WOULD YOU NOT WANT TO BE A DEMON??? i mean really.
Actually, for my human, I might go with Zero's daughter, Kiryuu Kairi. I'd have her be a demon hunter (maybe a militant branch of Amabilis Sanctum?) or such who contracted with a Devastator demon after Zero died since Zero was the hunters' leader and Kairi has confidence issues over whether she's strong enough to protect the group and her older sister, who is her most important person.
As said before, my pacted human will be Kiryuu Kairi. Kairi is technically a member of the defense force of Amabilis Sanctum and has been trained by her father in the use holy weapons. Despite her training and general talent, Kairi has always secretly suffered from low confidence due to her sister showing more innate talent than she. It wasn't so much she believed her parents had any preferences or even that she was jealous. It was more that she simply believed she could be better than she was, but she'd have to work extra hard. So that's what Kairi has done most of her life, 15 years or so. Kairi has her father's tendency to judge and his cool temper, but she also inherited her mother's general klutziness at times when she is embarrassed or worked up in a non-angry way. She is a bit shy and prefers hanging back... unless defending is involved. Kairi comes alive and seems to be a completely different person when defending, totally focused on the task at hand. She is also very close to her sister and focused on her well-being and general happiness.
As Kairi only recently pacted, she's still learning about her powers and how they affect her. She desired them to put her at a more even keel with the demons and be the true guardian, now that her father is gone.
She also makes overtures toward being polite and refined, but she gets bored of this effort easily and falls back into her father's matter-of-fact style.
I am back and now with newly completed journals. (Well, completed in the sense that they have icons so yay?)
Anyway, still going with Tavores for my demon. Backstory is the same. I think the main thing I'm going to tweak is that while his usual reaction to life is to be sullen and bitter about what happened to him, he'll also have a secretly playful side. It's doubtful those making pacts with him will see this, but others might. I also want to emphasize his proper manner and that he is a killjoy who is too serious for life. But as he's also a former royal, he is very respectful of women and can be a gentleman around them. He also has one hell of a temper when set off and is not shy about using his powers during those times.
